Arne Braeckman, sommelier et co-g\u00e9rant du bar \u00e0 vin Ona<\/a> \u00e0 Gand, s\u2019est vu d\u00e9cerner ce prestigieux titre national. <\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Fin janvier, les trois meilleurs sommeliers de chaque province se sont affront\u00e9s lors d’une \u00e9preuve exigeante autour d\u2019un th\u00e8me central : les monoc\u00e9pages, des vins \u00e9labor\u00e9s \u00e0 partir d\u2019un seul c\u00e9page. Les candidats ont d\u00e9gust\u00e9 dix vins \u00e0 l’aveugle et devaient non seulement en identifier l\u2019origine et le c\u00e9page, mais aussi proposer l’accord mets et vin parfait. Outre un palais aff\u00fbt\u00e9, des connaissances techniques, une argumentation solide et des comp\u00e9tences en communication \u00e9taient \u00e9galement essentielles. \u00ab Arne Braeckman s’est clairement distingu\u00e9 en obtenant le score le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. Il peut donc d\u00e9sormais se pr\u00e9valoir du titre de \u2018Sommelier of the Year 2025\u2019\u00bb<\/span><\/i>, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Baudouin Meyhui, pr\u00e9sident du jury. <\/p>\n

Ce n’est pas sa premi\u00e8re distinction : en 2023, Arne avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu \u2018Sommelier of the Year de la Province de Flandre orientale\u2019. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, son \u00e9pouse et \u2018partner in wine\u2019, Ona Rombaut, avec laquelle il dirige deux bars \u00e0 vin \u00e0 Gand, avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sacr\u00e9e \u2018Wine Lady of the Year\u2019. Leur passion commune et leur expertise ont fait du bar \u00e0 vin Ona une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence dans le monde du vin en Belgique. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

L’\u00e9lection du \u00ab\u00a0Sommelier of the Year\u2019 n’est pas un concours mais une reconnaissance du meilleur sommelier, saluant son engagement quotidien et son professionnalisme. Pour obtenir le titre, les candidats doivent r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 un certain nombre de crit\u00e8res. Ils doivent non seulement travailler dans un restaurant belge et avoir une exp\u00e9rience professionnelle suffisante mais \u00e9galement ma\u00eetriser les connaissances techniques et les comp\u00e9tences en communication n\u00e9cessaires. En outre une connaissance des aspects techniques d’une carte des vins, tout en garantissant la gestion de la carte des vins et le rapport qualit\u00e9-prix est primordiale. <\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9lection \u00ab Sommelier of the Year \u00bb, organis\u00e9e par Home & Table by Meyhui<\/a>, Foodprint<\/a> et le Club Prosper Montagn\u00e9<\/a>, r\u00e9compense, depuis 2010, le professionnalisme, l\u2019expertise et la passion de sommeliers belges qui font chaque jour la diff\u00e9rence dans le monde de la gastronomie. Un sommelier ne peut remporter le titre de \u2018Sommelier of the Year\u2019 qu\u2019une seule fois. Cette ann\u00e9e, le jury \u00e9tait entre autres compos\u00e9 du pr\u00e9sident Baudouin Meyhui et de Guido Francque, Frank Desmedt, Mathieu Vanneste, Gido Van Imschoot et Robert Vanlandeghem. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
